Wax Scrying – How to do Wax Divination

WHAT IS IT?

Candle wax readings are similar to tea leave readings, but instead of reading symbols and messages formed by wet tea leaves inside your teacup, candle drippings formed in water are interpreted.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

  • Ideally a scrying bowl but any bowl that is made from natural materials or has a reflective surface will do.
  • Water – Many recommend rain water or even river water for best results
  • Pen and paper if you want to ask a question
  • A candle that you feel drawn to use.

HOW TO CONDUCT YOUR DIVINATION

  • If you have a specific question you want to ask then now is the time to write it down, place it next to the bowl.
  • Light the candle
  • Relax for a few mintues
  • When you feel ready, pick the candle up and drip the wax into the bowl, there is no rules in how you should do this, go with however you feel you should and stop at what ever point you feel you need to, you do not have to use all the candle to do this.
  • Let the wax and water blend together naturally
  • Keep relaxed and if you have a question, keep repeating this to yourself during this process.
  • When you feel the divination is complete you can then stop, as stated above you do not need to use all the candle if you do not wish.

Now…

  • Sit relaxed, take in the energies and let the energies fade out, breath and exhale for this bit. close your eyes if you need to.
  • Take the piece of paper you had written you question on and burn it by the flame of the candle you used for the scrying session, if you are not comfortable with doing this then dip the question within the bowl you have used for the session.
  • Put out the fire of the candle, turn on the lights, and begin to interpret your wax findings. There are no right or wrong ways to interpret candle wax. It is your own personal experience.
  • Have a look at what is presenting on top of the water first. Take a picture of it if you may and concentrate.
  • You may have what is called big blogs of wax, pick these out the water and turn these over.

Some people may see numbers, animal shapes, objects or even faces.

Numbers could represent Days, weeks or Months.

Shapes such as a animal could have a deeper meaning, for example we received what looked like a butterfly this could represent FREEDOM.
