Torre Salvana – Castle of Hell

Last week, I visited Torre Salvana. Torre Salvana is an abandoned castle dating from the 10th century and is situated just outside Colònia Güell, in Barcelona. It is famous for its paranormal activity amongst locals and is recognised as one of the most haunted places in Catalonia, earning the nickname Castillo del Infierno (Castle of Hell).

Im not sure who or what haunts it, as there is nothing documented online other than claims it is haunted. However, I did see a male in my peripheral vision who wasn’t there when I looked again…

History

The construction was first reported in 992AD when Lord Ramón Borrel I Ermengol sold it to Ènnec Bonfill, Lord of the Masquefa castle. During its heyday, the castle was inhabited by different illustrious families. In 1715, during the war between Jaime I and Joan II, the building was severely damaged and, consequently, abandoned.

The crosses on the ruin window arches remind me of the scottish flag against the blue sky. Shadows from the crosses then casted through to parts of the ruins, which was pretty cool.
