When we think of Staffordshire and witches – the Most common and Legendary witch associated to that part of the UK is Molly Leigh, however in later years another witch gained popularity around Staffordshire and the UK and her name was Sybil Leek.

Sybil claimed to be a descendent of Molly and, just like Molly, took to keeping a crow named Mr Hotfoot. Jackson, who never left her shoulder.

Unlike Molly, who was treated unfairly, feared, and unliked 2 centuries earlier, Sybil was celebrated and had a successful career from her own witchcraft. 

SYBILS JOURNEY

Sybil was born in 1922 in Normacot in Staffordshire. Growing up in the New Forest area of Hampshire, Sybil learned about nature, animals, the power of herbs, and Eastern philosophies from her father, while her Russian grandmother schooled her in astrology, the psychic arts and divination. The likes of H. G. Wells, T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia), and Aleister Crowley were friends of her family and regular visitors to their home.

Further into her career, Sybil became a world-renowned astrologer and was proclaimed to be ‘Britain’s Most Famous Witch’ by the BBC.

By the late 70s, Sybil decided to move to Florida, where her career continued to Blossom. Sybil would regularly appear on US TV shows and later became an advisor to President Ronald Reagan, serving as his wife Nancy’s personal astrologer at the same time.

Over her lifetime, Sybil wrote more than 40 books on astrology, ESP, and Witchcraft. She is best known for her international bestseller “Diary of a Witch.” She is also known for “The Complete Art of Witchcraft,” “My Life in Astrology,” and her magazine, “Sybil Leek’s Astrology.” she also had a keen interest in antiques and owned several antique shops.

Sybil died on 26th October 1982 in Melbourne, Flordia, USA after a 9 month battle with cancer. Sacred Pentagraph and the U.S. Horsa Coven of the Wolfa are still active, with hive groups around the country and northwestern Canada.
